PUBLICLY LISTED SPACE COMPANIES
With the number of companies growing along with investor confidence there is a need to bring together information about the space sector in Europe. The European Space Agency, the European Commission and Promus Ventures, have joined forces to identify a list of European space-based companies currently listed on the stock market. The European Space Index is a virtual portfolio of European publicly traded space companies that can be used to measure their stock market performance. It is designed to display a fair representation of European space companies and will assist investors and industry professionals in the creation of investment strategies and the creation of new financial products.
The performance of the European Space Index serves as:
Thermometer of the financial markets. | Benchmark, point of reference for management of space companies | Increasing awareness about space within the financial community |
METHODOLOGY
The index is created by a dedicated expert group with deep knowledge of the sector. They decide which companies to include and their weight in the index based on a firm’s activities and the proportion of its revenues stemming from space.
